The Water Is Gone, Don't Worry Trust God Kings 17:3-7 KJV

Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. 4...And it shall be that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there. 5...So he went and did according unto the word of the Lord: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. 6...And the raven brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook. 7...And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.

This is one of my favorite stories in the Bible because it shows us what happens when we have faith, unbelievable, unshakable, no doubt about it faith. Is it possible to have the faith of Elijah? Absolutely.

The irony is you don’t have to be a preacher or God’s right-hand man although in fairness to preachers and right-handed men of God, the degree of the impossible becomes ordinary to those who dare to take those steps necessary and have that kind of faith.

Moses had a staff that turned into a snake to prove God’s POWER against the Egyptians. He used that same staff to open the Red Sea. David used a slingshot to defeat Goliath. God has always provided what was needed to defeat the enemy, to prove God’s faithfulness.

The song say’s “Great is thy faithfulness, oh God my father, there is no shadow of turning with thee. All I have needed thou hand has provided, Great is thy faithfulness. What is the key? Have faith in God. He told Elijah to hide by the brook Cherith, you will have water to drink, and ravens were commanded by God to bring him a sandwich in the morning and evening. But the brook did dry up because of a natural event…there was no rain. That season was over.

God told him to go to Zarephath where a widow woman will provide what you need. The meal in the barrel never became empty and her cruse of oil never failed at the word of Elijah. Elijah “spoke” her miracle and God performed it. But that is not the end of this story.

The son of the woman became sick and died; the woman’s anger was understandably great. Elijah took her son up to where Elijah lived in her house, cried unto the Lord asking that the son’s soul come into him again. God heard Elijah and brought her son back to life. By faith in God and your relationship with Him, nothing is impossible. Just have faith.

How much faith do you need? Jesus said in Matthew 17:20 KJV..."If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you". It does not matter what you are facing, Believe in His Word, have Faith and Trust God.
