Exodus 12:21-28, Isaiah 53:3-7 & John 3:14-18 KJV
Exodus 12:21-28 KJV…Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover. 22…And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning. 23…For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you. 24…And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever. 25…And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the Lord will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service. 26…And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service? 27…That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the Lord's passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped. 28…And the children of Israel went away, and did as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.
The Children of Israel had been in bondage to Egypt and their Pharaoh’s for 400 plus years when God delivers them from their anguish. Moses became their leader, went to Pharaoh with a simple message from God “Let my people go”…BUT God told Moses that He had hardened Pharaoh’s heart and for that reason Pharaoh was not going to let them (the children of Israel) leave.
This is a great example of blind faith, obeying God but not knowing His plan for how He is going to accomplish this job He has given you. 10 plagues laid on Pharaoh and the Egyptians and he will have interest in doing what Moses is telling him BUT because his heart has been hardened by God 10 of the plagues come to pass.
The blood becomes necessary because of the sacrifice of the lamb. The blood is put on the lentil of the door and the side posts because the death angel will be coming but when he sees the blood, he will Passover that house. If there was no blood for the death angel to see, the first born would die.
Throughout the Old Testament, the prophesy of Jesus was always to be the chosen one to redeem us (you and I) back to God after sin entered The Garden of Eden. Isaiah 53;3-7 KJV…He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4…Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5… But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6…All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7…He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
In The New Testament, we find the passages we learned as children to let us know just how much God The Father loves us. John 3:14-18 KJV… And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15…That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16…For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17…For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18…He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
The blood sacrifice of the Old Testament is realized in The New Testament when Jesus after communion with His disciples was taken from the Garden of Gethsemane, beaten, whipped beyond recognition taken from judgement hall to judgement hall, given a cross to carry and be nailed to it. Told a man crucified beside Him “This day you will be in paradise with me”
Suffered a death unimaginable to us, placed in a tomb to be forgotten end of story… BUT…
The morning of the 3rd day, something happened, Jesus went into the tomb dead but came out alive, with All Glory And Honor And Praise To The Only True And Living God… Jesus The Christ… King of Kings and Lord of Lords Hallelujah… Hallelujah…Hallelujah
Why did He suffer and endure such agony and torture?…Just For Me and you.
Thank You Lord
