Remind Me Of Your Greatness
Thank God for those who create inspirational screen-savers, backgrounds and Bible verses to encourage us. They have a gift that blesses many including me with the powerful images they allow us to share.
The one that has stayed with me for many years shows a man at the top of a cliff overlooking a landscape beneath him that to me is breathtaking. The Bible reference is from Psalm 25:4-5...Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. 5...Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God od my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. (KJV).
The Holy Spirit has given me this to share with you, especially during these times we are in now. The ways of men are filled with confusion because there are too many self centered motives involved with our thoughts. We are consumed “me” and the proof of it is staring us in the face because of the virus that has it’s grip on us as a people...we are fearful and that is not from God.
The Bible refers to this fear as a spirit 2nd Timothy 1:7...For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Yet we have allowed ourselves to become consumed with the fear of what some call the attack on our way of life.
The passages of this message tells us our way of life is supposed to ask God to show us His ways, teach us His paths, the way He want’s us to go, the road He want’s us to take. The 119th Psalm verse 105 tells us “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path”. It reminds me the lamp at my feet is when I walk in familiar places but the light unto my path is when I am unfamiliar areas that have twists and turns...that prevent me from seeing things far ahead of me. That is when He is leading, guiding and protecting us.
David (the writer of this 25th Psalm) was quite knowledgeable about his God because he spent time with Him. He was far from perfect in his life but had enough confidence in God to know when I needed Him last time, He showed up, He will do it again.
When we in fearful times stop long enough to remember God got me through the last storm I was in and will get me through this one. He kept life’s waves of destruction from taking me under. When I was laid off, somehow bills got paid. When the unemployment check was late somehow food was on the table. When the company was talking about downsizing, somehow God made a way. When the doctor’s report was not looking good and the medical bills were about to consume me, somehow God provided an unexpected check or someone offered to help pay some of my bills.
We are supposed to remember to ask God to lead us in His truth and teach us because He is the God of our salvation. I will wait all day just to talk with Him. Jesus reminded us in Matthew 11:28 ...come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. And everyday we have God's Precious Holy Spirit guiding, leading and giving us God's Truth for us to call on whenever we need help.
Look to men to help us out if this, no way. Trust in God's precious promises. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2...My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. 3...He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. 4...Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5...The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. 6...The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. 7...The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. 8...The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. Psalm 121 KJV
