Go Through Your Samaria
John 4:4...And he must needs go through Samaria.
How many have said...Lord no matter the cost, my sole desire is to be used by you? How many been drawn to a certain place but are fearful to go because of the reputation of that place? In the Gospel of John Chapter 4 verse 4, the scripture states And he must needs go through Samaria.
History tells us there were issues between the Jews and Samaritans. Because of wars and the domination of a people because of war, intermingling between one group determined to not associate with the other will fall by the way side (paraphrasing). Jews had nothing to do with Samaritans, bottom line...racial intermingling took place and the Jews lost their racial purity.
During Jesus ministry, he told the disciples not to associate with Samaritans (Matthew 10:5) yet in John 4:4 we find him drawn to Samaria. There is something about ministry that causes you to forget about racial issues or ones station in life issues or views of society or going to the worst part of the city because it is at those places you will find those who need the Words of Truth most.
The story continues to show Jesus compassion ministering to a woman scorned by society because she had many men in her life. However it was a special trip to save just one who would inturn tell everyone...I met a man, let me tell you about Him.
All to often, when we have an opportunity to be used, we find excuses. Luke 14:18 is a great read to see how we come up with reasons why we can't be used. Imagine if you will, your testimony being the one that could turn someone toward Christ but you don't share it.
During this season of Pentecost, if you have not already done so...ask God to fill you with the Gift of the Holy Ghost. It is your power to witness and do the amazing things the disciples did...which were the things Jesus did.
Whatever your Samaria is, go through. Someone is waiting at the well for you. The times we are living in right now call for boldness to stand for right, to stand for truth and not someone's version of it but the absolute truth...The Gospel of Jesus
If you have been saved, accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior...Like Jesus, you needs go through Samaria. Lost souls are waiting Those who are different from you whether it is racial, cultural, socioeconomic whoever or whatever...they need Jesus.
Remember, we were not all that we are now when Jesus first knocked on the door of our heart. thank God we answered and thank God for choosing me to go through.
